Have you seen my pirate ship?

This one was for my little Benny boy's fourth birthday.  And so, my usual level of crazy detail was escalated to an almost dangerous level.  I carved each plank out of and stamped each nail hole into modeling chocolate,  spent hours molding sails and railings out of white chocolate, etc., etc.  And it was all worth it.  I love you, little Benny boy.  And I shall express my love through cake.  'Cause you don't mind that.  Ever.  :)

Unbelievable...

I cannot believe how this business has taken off.  I have had multiple orders each week and am so thankful for each and every one of them!  I have been able to expand my scope and do things for people I never even dreamed of.  I am so glad that everyone has enjoyed their goodies and  feel very fortunate to have played a part in each of their events.

I've started a facebook page and am toying around with the idea of a website.  For now, I have posted pictures of my most recent work on the page.  Please check it out and let me know what you think!  https://www.facebook.com/MrsSugarBritchesBakehouse

Now, friends, it's time to dig in my heels and get that mixer turning.  FIVE orders by Sunday!  I'm gonna be running on caffeine and adrenaline this week, ladies and gents.  Wish me luck!

Cakes for sale!!!

Holy orders, Batman!

Another successful week of cake orders has passed.  Last week I made a...ahem..."Top Shelf" cake (Think boobs...) and a Greek Flag cake.  Both turned out really well.  Well, I guess you could say all three turned out well...

Great news, considering this was my first venture into the world o' fondant.  Of course, nothing can be simple (AKA store bought) and I am totally into making everything from scratch.  So I made the fondant...from scratch...  Though it ended up turning out really well, it was a maddening pain in the tush to make.  I had lots of consistency issues with it.  However, I also learned an awful lot in the process, so I'd call it a win-win.  :)

This week I am working on an order for chocolates and one for decorated cookies.  I'm thrilled with how word of mouth has carried me, thus far. But I know that well will eventually run dry.  So I plan to work on some marketing this week, as well as trying to look into websites and/or a facebook page.  Wish me luck and I'll keep you POSTed.
